In today's gospel, the disciples are on a boat, and a horrible storm suddenly came up. Jesus, of course, was walking on the water. But Peter doubted that this was indeed his Lord Jesus. And so the following dialogue ensued:
"Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water." And Jesus told him to "Come." Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw how strong the wind was, he became frightened….and he began to sink, crying out "Lord, save me!"
As Fr Joji explained, Peter lost his FOCUS. How many times do we lose sight of Jesus' Presence in our lives? Actually I had come to mass "un-focused" (is there such a word???!!), needing some kind of sign to help me to Trust and Focus. Hmmm, seems I was meant to hear that homily. And so, once again, thank you, Fr Joji for your wisdom and clarity.
