Interestingly enough the Lenten readings I have for today were all about serving others, the first shall be last, and the last shall be first. Humility at its essence. And there she was. I know God has put people in my life (in all of our lives) to help us on our journey in this life. Like Marilyn, they (unknowingly) set examples for us. I think of it as Jesus speaking through them. Those are the signs that we look for, pray for, yet often miss because we are so preoccupied with other "things."
Perhaps we can take time each day to stop and look for the Christ in others. I, for one, struggle with humility and self absorption sometimes. But today Jesus reminded me, nudged me to take notice of how He wants me to be. I saw it all in Marilyn.
Blessings and Peace on your Lenten journey.
