Yes, 44 years ago, on a very cold and snowy night, Jim and I and our oldest, Jimmy, dropped Jimmy off at his grandma's in Chicago, then made the trip from Franklin Park to St Francis Hospital in Evanston……did I mention it was a blizzard???
Ever so gently….no, I'm not kidding - gently….this sweet 9# 2oz red-haired little boy arrived and was placed in our arms for the first time...and changed our lives.
His accomplishments are far too many to enumerate, but that's not what makes him so special. Scott is his own man, with a strong set of family values, and a gentle loving heart. He has taught these values to his own children. He is a wonderful husband and son.
We are so glad you were born, Scotty. We wish you a year of wonderful surprises and new joyful memories.
I can remember hearing people talk about how they couldn't wait until their kids left the nest, went to college, were out of the house. But, honestly, Jim and I never felt that way with our children. Rather, we enjoyed the people they were becoming and missed them when they left the nest.
