Our littlest grandson, Paddy, came for the day today. At 21 months, he is as busy as a little bee. =) So my plan for today's activities were perfect.....well, kind of......perfect from the standpoint that we accomplished the goal! In the past I have done this with our other grandchildren....creating ornaments, drawings, art masterpieces....to give out at Christmas to their Mommy and Daddy. I have never been disappointed with the responses of the parents, for they treasure the work of their little hands.
SOOOO, out came styrooam balls, glitter, paints (WASHABLE), stickers, paint brushes, pipe cleaners, markers....I wish I had had a video of it all. He chose the colors of the paints and also the colored glitter. Some items he painted and sprinkled with glitter. The results were great. I cannot wait to see the looks on the faces of the mommies and daddies.
It gives me such joy to watch them create their own masterpieces.....things upside down, stickers half off and half on, clumps of glitter, scribbles galore! Paddy made one for each member of his family at home and also one for his cousins -Jack, Meg and Ally. Treasures like these are the best gifts of all....gifts of the heart. At the end of the day, his clothes had very definite signs of paint.... BUT, washable!!!! +)
