After listening to the grandmother, I couldnt help but think of how hard our society makes "image" for young women. Commercials, movies, magazines, media, internet, etc, etc, create a pseudo, barely attainable model for little girls. And normal children of normal body weight and composition suddenly begin to SEE something in the mirror which doesn't really exist. But in their minds, they are simply NOT right, not thin enough, not pretty enough, wrong clothes, wrong accessories....and on it goes.
I promised the grandmother I would carry the child with me in my heart. Sometimes that is the only way we can help one another.
If any of you are suffering from anorexia or bulemia, please be gentle with yourself. I pray you will find someone who is able to help you through this and help you to see yourself as you really are. We rarely perceive ourselves as others perceive us.
