SERIOUSLY! How could I have lost the order for our family pictures ?!! I hit SAVE, but obviously, I must have done something else wrong. It isn't like I lost the pictures. It's just that I painstakingly went thru all 50 over and over and over and over…..ad nauseum!
God, grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change….
The courage to change the things I can….
And the wisdom to know the difference….
Oh, brother, brother, brother…..right now i have several "pressing" things. I'm using all the training I've had for deeeeeeeep breathing.
Granted these "pressing" things will pass….and they are annoyances / little concerns in the big picture.
It comes up like a vengeance every year, irregardless of the number of years it has been since Meggan was taken from us. And every year I try to remain strong, focused on the blessings in my life. Yet in my heart, I will always ache for you, my child of joy. The memories of your death haunt us every day of our lives.
With all my heart, I love you, Meggan!
Cherish the moments in your lives, for they will never be repeated in the same way
These 7 blessings have brought so much to our lives and to the world. Each one of these children has incredible potential, talent, gifts of self that they share. I am ever so grateful for their presence in our lives.
For each one of us prayer has different form (for lack of a better word). It may be standard prayers, the rosary, reading scripture, meditation, walking in nature, singing, just talking, etc. But the common theme is that prayer is a conversation with our God. Some may describe it as a friendship, others may feel it more of a child - parent relationship (God the Father). Whatever the method, it is our own way of communicating with the Divine.
My prayer life changes often, but my most comfortable way of communicating is with just talking to the Divine, as if HE/SHE were sitting chatting with me. I also carry a rosary with me and in a moment of panic or stress, I find myself saying "Hail Mary, full of grace…." It's a natural response for me.
I try to make gratitude part of my every day prayer. I'll admit, some days I just plain don't feel grateful!!!! And that's okay; because our God understands those moments.
As we enter closer to Thanksgiving, I encourage all of us to make gratitude the top of the list. It can be as simple as "thank You, Lord, for the sky." Or as lengthy as a gratitude list. God doesn't care how long or short it is…but I'm sure SHE/HE is grateful for our gratitude.
Peace and blessings…...
It is with tremendous gratitude that we remember all the women and men who have risked their lives so that we might have freedom.
A once beautiful flower
Was taken without a fight...
She brightens the heavens now
Filling the darkness with her light.
