What do you hope to achieve
There is nothing as important as family love. It is, after all, the place where we first experience unconditional love and acceptance.
As Advent approaches, let us all remember that we are part of an even bigger family, and together we make up the world.
Blessings and peace.......
I can just "hear" the Daddy telling his little boy, " Take my hand and follow me; I will show you the way. I will never let you down. You are safe with me. You can trust me. I love you."
Perhaps these are also our heavenly Father's words for us. In times of doubt, I will remember this visual....
I like to think that children "SEE" magic and wonder that we adults overlook. What do you think they see? Maybe a little bit of heaven?
As we approach Advent, perhaps we can look for the little bits of heaven along the way.
I wish you wonder and joy.......
This week I am going to post various pictures.....pictures that speak a thousand words, just by looking at them.
I started out early this morning (after 5:30), with organized lists ( I LOVE lists), and a written agenda on where to go when and for what. BUT, I do have a few guidelines for myself (doesn't everyone?).
* I will not take a parking space that someone else has already signaled ownership for, no matter how long I have been looking. What would have been really nice was if others followed suit. But...
* I refuse to stand in lines for long periods of time....time is of the essence. For example, I walked into Kohl's at about noon. Apparently their Biggest DEALS ended at 1 pm. There were two sets of lines on two sides of the store.....yup, I'd say at least 150 people..............and it was B Y E -B Y E, KOHL'S! (with a huge sigh of relief)
*I will speak kindly to those working in the stores. I mean some of these poor souls had been working since midnight!
I'm sure there are more, but for now, I've been up waaaaaaaaaaaay too long and the brain is getting fuzzy. What a great beginning! :)
The time has come to give thanks for all the blessings we have. Each of you is a gift to someone, a blessing.
I wish you joy an
If your inbox is anything like mine, there are countless ads for BLACK FRIDAY (starting now ??), lists of what stores are open at 8 pm on THANKSGIVING (bet those retail workers are reeeeeeeeeeeeeally thrilled), door busters (if you get there by 5 am....which I, too, have done), coupons (which, of course, don't count for door busters or yellow dot or other "special offers").ETC. So here is what I'm wondering....can we all just take one minute an hour to think of all we are thankful for,
the people who have made a difference in our lives,
the many blessings we have received, the many moments we have shared with those we love, and whatever else comes to mind? And, maybe, just maybe if we are able to do this, the craziness that awaits us won't be so overwhelming.
Deal? Ok, see you at the mall at midnight.
Those who know me are aware that I have learned from close friend and previous boss ( Ann Solari Twadell yeeeeeeeeeeears ago) that birthdays are SEASONS, not just single days. And so over the years I have spread that joyful tidbit. Tonight the teen age daughter of one of our daughter's friends asked if she could borrow her mom's birthday tiara. When her mom said it wasn't her birthday, the teen said "It's MY birthday SEASON!" YES! Woo Hoo! Another believer. ;)
Rusty married her high school sweetheart, Jim. They have four children and seven adorable
