It's hard to believe that Jimmy is 15 years old!! What an incredible young man you are, Jimmy. We are blessed to be your grandparents.
This past year has been wonderful for you. and it has been so much fun seeing you grow and "become" the dynamic person you are. You have touched us….we have grown. Love you so much, Jimmy! We're g
This sweet, shy little redhead is a different person when it comes to sports. She is always determined!!!! Way to go, Meg!!
And so it begins….the first day of summer.
Farewell snow and icy rain….
You don't ever have to come again!
Let us bask, instead, in radiant light
To each new dawn a glorious sight!
Set aside shovels and winter tools
Don bathing suits and sit by a pool.
Free ourselves to have some fun….
Relaxing and playing in the warmth of the sun.
Treasure the times with loved ones spent
And know each moment is heaven sent.
I wish you a beautiful summer!
What a wonderful moment for father and daughter….Molly placed 2nd in the national competition! Happy duo!!!
It is an incredible thing for young children to have such poise and self confidence at such early ages. Public speaking gives them the opportunity to become self assured, and their self esteem soars!!!!
So proud of you!!!!
Congratulations, Erin! In her first national competition she came in 7th. Awesome!!!!!
Many years ago a dear friend (and former boss) taught me that birthdays are never one day. Rather, they are a SEASON! What determines when the season begins?
It could start with someone "mentioning" your birthday…."hey, isn't your birthday around the corner?"
OR celebrating lunch with a friend (and the word birthday comes up in conversation) OR receiving a gift OR seeing something you just HAVE TO have and buying it with the rationalization that your birthday season is somewhere in the near (or not so near) future ..In other words it is up to the discretion of the said birthday person to decide when it begins. I've taught this to our children, who in turn have taught it to their children, friends, neighbors….recently a young teen in Wisconsin asked her mom about her birthday season. "What is THAT?" the mother asked. I never did find out if she got her "season."
As my birthday approaches (and, yes, the season started about a week ago), I wonder how long this season of my life will go on. Birthdays are meant to be celebrations of life. As we (I…and my many counterparts) age we find a season of treasured memories. Each one is like a wrapped present, just waiting to be re opened…and celebrated.
I wish you all a wonderful birthday SEASON.
We just received a call that a dear friend, Linda Raftery, died suddenly. Linda and her husband, Ed, were a great couple, retired about a year and a half ago, and he adored her. About seven weeks ago Linda began having severe pain in her back, requiring her to go to the ER. Morphine didn't touch the pain. She was diagnosed with kidney and lung cancer.
None of us know what each day will bring, what sudden changes will occur in our lives, and how we will react when tragedy happens.
Kiss the people you love, remember to tell them you love them…..don't throw away the chance to
